We're entering a relatively quiet period for the next few weeks, when no major aspects are forming. This is a welcome lull after the extended Mars-Pluto opposition of last winter and spring. And now that Saturn is really picking up speed, it will be just a few months before he moves into opposition with Uranus, a time that's sure to bring disruption and upheaval. More on that later. In the meantime, let's just enjoy this period of relative smooth sailing.
The Moon enters Aries early this morning and quickly makes a nice trine to the Sun. We're currently in the Disseminating Phase of the Moon. The word 'disseminate' means to broadcast or distribute, so this part of the lunar cycle is associated with giving back, returning the favor and teaching what you know to someone else. It's the passing of the torch, so to speak. So don't keep your knowledge to yourself today. Pass on what you've learned.
The Sun moves into Leo bright and early this morning, bringing an inspiring and youthful bounty of energy that will last four weeks. The Moon joins Uranus today, creating excitable emotions, and a trine to Mercury eases flow of expression. This isn't a bad combination for communication, but don't be surprised if you hear a surprising confession or some shocking news. Watch for impulsive bursts of emotional expression.
This is the last full day of the Sun in Cancer for this year, and the Moon is in Pisces. That's a lot of water energy -- the perfect climate for reflecting upon the past four weeks, which is always a good idea when we come to the end of the Sun's stay in a particular sign. Tomorrow, the astrological weather report will change when the Sun shifts into upbeat Leo. Enjoy the liquid lull before the fiery storm.
The Full Moon occurs early in the morning today, when most people in the western hemisphere are still asleep, but its effects will persist for about three days. The Cancer-Capricorn axis, where this Full Moon occurs, is all about safety and security. It manifests most strongly in issues of home, family, work and career. These issues will be especially strong if your birthday is today or around January 17 - 18, April 16 - 17 or October 19 - 20.
The Moon continues to dally in Capricorn, spurring us on in our work. Much can be accomplished when the Moon is in this industrious sign. After sundown, she's doing everything she can to attract our attention. She's 'out of bounds,' meaning much farther south -- lower in the sky -- than usual. And in tomorrow's wee hours, she'll be full. Open yourself to the illumination the Full Moon can bring.
