Hemming a skirt, Elisa-style

by Elisa Camahort at 2:27pm Thu, 17 Jul 2008 under clothing, sewing, DIY, BeautyHacks
Since BlogHer is this week I have planned out my outfits scrupulously...does anyone else do that? Anyway, today I pulled a new skirt out of the dry cleaning pastic to wear...as scrupulously planned. It's Calvin Klein, I got it on sale at Macy's, and I've worn it exactly once: At BlogHer Business last March. Put it on to discover the hem is completely unraveling across the front! What to do?? Changing outfits just didn't seem an option. No, I had planned to wear this, and wear it I was going to do. So I went downstairs and grabbed some Scotch tape and taped that hem.

Project Runway Recap: Season 5 begins!!!

And before we can blink an eye (because we blink really really slowly) one of the designers is gone! I know that I often sing the praises of Project Runway because it is very respectful of my valuable time. None of this weeks and weeks of audition episodes that are all about cruelty and humiliation. None of this two hours for challenge/performance, and then another day and another hour just to get the results that really only take two minutes to announce.

The BlogHer '08 OpenSpace: What's it all about, Kaliya?

For a very lucky 300 BlogHer '08 attendees, the conference doesn't end with a wild Saturday night at Macy's. Nope, 300 stalwart attendees will get up and go to the BlogHer '08 OpenSpace all day Sunday, led by last year's facilitator, Kaliya Hamlin.

BlogHer in Second Life Update: Final Agenda and Registration Update

As you probably know, BlogHer in real life is sold out, make that waaaay sold out with a long waiting list. Now, there will be live blogs, and shortly post-conference there will be session podcasts. But if you're hoping for something a little more participatory, you still have time to register for BlogHer in Second Life.

The Final BlogHer '08 Blogging Birds of a Feather and Room of Your Own schedule

Remember when we opened up two tracks of open slots for the community to schedule in topic-based Birds of a Feather meet-ups and community-driven Room of Your Own sessions? OK, this might refresh your memory! Those slots filled up pretty quickly, but since I'm not sure you all go check the agenda obsessively (you don't? really?) I thought I'd announce the final line-up.
